Our Programs...
Assistance with basic needs
Golden residents who reside in the 80401 and 80403 zip codes within our service area are able to receive assistance with rent and utility payments, prescriptions, and medical co-pays. Other special requests are considered if funds are available. Proof of residency, identification, and documentation of need are required.
Back to School Shopping Spree
This annual event, held in August, is a partnership with the Golden SEU, Target at CO Mills, and the Intermountain Division of The Salvation Army in Denver. Children who attend Golden schools whose families have limited resources are invited to participate. Volunteer chaperones shop with the children to help them find what they need. Donations from the Golden community help fund the purchase of new clothing and shoes, and the Intermountain Division provides a new backpack and school supplies for each child.
Annual Bell Ringing Campaign
Each year, during November and December, 250 or more members of local churches, service clubs, students from Golden schools, and residents participate in the annual Bell Ringing Campaign. Donations received at different ringing sites in the community during the holidays determine the budget for the coming year. Of the funds raised, 90% stays in Golden to assist those in need.
